Why I chose this topic
“Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way to live.”
— Gianni Versace
Welcome to my first post. My name is Elena. I chose the topic of my personal style because I have found that through developing a taste for what my style-identity is, I have not only gained confidence in the way I view myself and the way that the world views me, but I have also gained insight into the importance of representing yourself a certain way to enhance your presence in the right moments. For example, the importance of dressing for a job interview, feeling the best on your date, standing out, showing your personality, expressing your feminine energy, expressing your style in a modest way for church, and many other situations.
I am starting this blog for my COM210 class, and plan on creating my own photos, audio recordings, and video to post on this blog. I hope to create my own logo for a personal clothing brand, and a video “lookbook.” I plan on photographing my everyday outfits and outfits I am wearing to upcoming occasions to post on the blog. Here is an example of a fashion lookbook. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kObmzJpiY6I Here, a youtuber under the name cocobeautea talks about her favorite clothing pieces for autumn. Here is also a link to her blog: http://www.cocobeautea.co.uk where she focuses on fashion and lifestyle. Another inspiration of mine is Andy Singer, here is a link to her instagram profile. https://www.instagram.com/andicsinger/?hl=en I appreciate the mixing of various colors, textures, and patterns, and aspire to be able to shoot such high quality outfit pictures some day. Delaney Childs is another inspiration of mine, https://thestyledseed.com/styling-a-few-of-my-favorite-spring-trends/ . Here, she discusses her favorite spring trends. I also enjoy mixing business pieces with casual outfits.
I look forward to learning more about how this whole “blog” thing works, thanks for reading.

A typical outfit of mine…I like pairing basic colors, such as a white tee, with vintage jeans and accessorize with textured jewelry.
